The Benefits of Satwik Quality (Sattwa Goona)

सत्त्वं विशुद्धं जलवत्तथापि
ताभ्यां मिलित्वा सरणाय कल्पते ।
यत्रात्मबिम्बः प्रतिबिम्बितः सन्
प्रकाशयत्यर्क इवाखिलं जडम् ॥ ११७ ॥

sattwam visuddham jalabatthaap
taabyaam militwaa saranaaya kalpatay
yatraatmabimbah pratibimbitah sun
prakaashayatyarka ibaakhilam jadam

SATTWA GOONA is Pure. It becomes useful for Liberation. Therein is reflected the shadow of the AATMAN. Sattwa manifests the AATMAN, THE SOUL, as the Sun manifests the whole of the Universe. It is light. Light, scattering, and darkness are the three qualities of Sattwa, Rajas, and Tamas.
